You still have 10 days to enter your photos in The 65th Picture of the Year International (POYi) competition. POYI is one of the world’s oldest and one of the most prestigious photojournalism contest. More than 39,000 photographs have been selected as the best pictures from each year, 1943 to now.

“The Sony World Photography Awards will showcase the very best imagery from around the world and will undoubtedly inspire and excite anyone who is passionate about photography” – Tom Stoddart

The Sony World Photography Awards will be held between the 21st and 25th April 2008 at Palais de Festivals, Cannes. The contest has 2 categories – professionals and amateurs – and is free to enter the competition.

For Professional Photographers, each photographer must submit up to 10 pieces of work for a single category.

Professional Award categories include:
1. Abstract
2. Advertising
3. Architectural
4. Fashion
5. Music / Performance
6. Nature
7. Nude
8. People
9. Photojournalism
10. Science
11. Sport

All submitted works will be judged by Academy members, and three finalists will be nominated in each of the eleven categories.
