“Breakfast” Project

Do you remember the book “Hungry Planet” by by Peter Menzel?
Today I present you a similar project to the one above.

Breakfast by Joh Huck, is a collection of photos of what people eat for breakfast. I like this project because I found it being close to everyday life. I like the fact that Joh Huck has put together portraits of people with what they usually have for breakfast.

Here is a short interview with Joh Huck:

Maria: How did you come up with the idea of photographing people and what they have for breakfast?
Joh Huck: I am very curious about people – especially their private rituals that no one else gets to see.
Breakfast is something that is so ordinary to the person having it but can be really fascinating to outsiders.

Maria: How long took you to take all the photos included in this project?
Joh Huck: I think I spent about a year shooting it.

Maria: Tell us something about yourself.
Joh Huck: I am a musician primarily but I’ve always done photography. In the past 5 years or so I’ve been moving more into the visual arts.
